Press Release: IMHA Advocate Positions at Mind in Bexley
Are you able to represent vulnerable people in terms of their mental health?
Are you able to work as part of a team?
We are looking for highly committed individuals to work as part of a team to provide and develop Independent Mental Health Advocacy (IMHA) to residents of Bexley. The post holder will work with Bexley residents including young and older persons in hospital, forensic and community settings throughout the Borough.
You will promote self-advocacy and enable service users to make informed decisions to get their views heard in matters relating to their mental health. We need people who are committed to working with and empowering vulnerable individuals.
If you have relevant experience, are sensitive to the needs of people with mental health issues, committed to advocating for individuals’ rights and have excellent communication and listening skills then we would really like to hear from you. Advocacy experience is necessary however we will also consider individuals who have related experience of working in health, social care and other relevant areas.
Full accredited IMHA training will be provided. Mind in Bexley values diversity and encourages applicants from across all the rich and varied cultures that make up our community.
IMHA Community/Hospital/Forensic Hospital to include Older and Young Persons Specialist full or part time.
1 x Full time 35 hours per week
2 x Part Time 17.5 Hours per week
NJC S01, (29-31) £26,845 - £27,672 (Inc. OLW)
3 Year post subject to continuing funding.
We will also consider people interested in job sharing.
