Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP) Trainee Job Advert
As part of the national Improving Access to Psychological Therapies Programme (IAPT), Bexley Care Trust has commissioned Bexley Community and Mental Health Services Ltd. and Mind in Bexley Ltd. to provide the pan borough Being Well in Bexley service.
The Being Well in Bexley Central Hub is located at Mind in Bexley premises in Bexleyheath where the Step 2 Low Intensity psychological wellbeing service, a debt advice project, employment advisor and generic holistic support, for a range issues impinging on people’s mental health, are provided.
We are now recruiting:
A Trainee Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP)
NJC scale point 22 to 27 (equivalent to AfC Band 4) £21,375 to £24,713 inc OLW
*Starting salary within range stated will depend on experience
You may be qualified or unqualified, but will be determined to play your part in offering help and support to people with mild to moderate depression and anxiety. We need people with energy and enthusiasm who can work within a multi-professional team as part of a partnership model of service delivery.
As part of the roll out of the IAPT programme, Universities are offering one-year traineeships to Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners, starting in September/October 2010. The PWP Trainee will work at the Hub, providing low intensity interventions and guided self-help for people with mild to moderate anxiety and depression and will attend college for one day a week. The Trainee will be employed by Mind in Bexley, on the above salary, and will also receive one year of high quality evidence-based training.
Candidates will need recent experience of working with people with mental health problems. You may be a graduate (or equivalent) level in a relevant profession, or have acquired good practical experience of mental health work with evidence of recent relevant study. In addition to the requirements in the Person Specification, candidates will have to satisfy the University that they are capable of completing the academic component of the training.
On successful completion of the training, the trainee can expect to be appointed to the Being Well in Bexley service as a Qualified Psychological Well-being Practitioner, at the appropriate salary.
